Renate was my handwork teacher many years ago while I was training to become a Waldorf early childhood teacher. How wonderful to find this little video here today. It is not only what she said but the manner in which she said it that was so touching. Thank-you for sharing.

    Wow. Great video.
All my children are “required” to do 30 to 60 minutes of “handwork” a day as a part of our homeschool. Boys knit, whittle, draw, sketch or whatever they desire and the girls knit, crochet, sew, needle work, draw, sketch, or whatever they desire. It makes for a very good school day.

-Yes, even the teen boy gets to do his handwork. One of my older ones would use his time to make wooden birdhouses from stuff in the woods. They even enjoy themselves while creating with their hands.
