Nature tables…

A nature table is a collection of objects grouped together in a display to reflect the season of the year.  There are many things that can be added to the table…play silks, flowers, moss, twigs, books, crafts, wool, etc.   There is an emphasis on nature and the gifts that the season brings.  The objects are meant to be played with by children and encourages them to explore their world for more gifts to add to the growing table.

With Spring in full swing, we are sure that many of you are adding small little gifts your Nature tables.   With this in mind Rhythm of the Home would love to see what your Nature table looks like for Spring.

So, If you would like to share, just leave a comment here with a link and we will be compiling a post with photos of the nature tables from those in our community who would like to share.

I have posted a couple of photos of ours as part of my post today. Ours is always natural materials with things that trickle in with each of us. It is a blank slate today, a little odd given the Spring around us, but sour grass and other picked greens on last so long before the compost eats them!

I saw this post last month and got sort of wistful for all the wonderful nature tables out there.

Well, finally, we have a nature table of our own.

It’s new. It’s still a little baby of a table. But it’s there. It’s ours.

Thanks for showcasing so many others. I’m excited to watch ours develop!
